Wesleyan Kiddie College ministers to families with children six weeks to four years of age.

Kiddie College is an outreach of First Wesleyan Church of Bartlesville, OK and is established as a service to the families and children of the community. This service has grown from sincere love for children and a desire to help them "increase in wisdom and in favor with God and man" (Luke 2:32).

Wesleyan Kiddie College serves the needs of working families. We provide programs where each child's individuality is recognized and supported by loving and caring Christian teachers. We are committed to creating child care where children are safe, well nourished, educated and spiritually fed. Children learn best when they are engaged and interested, and what better way to do that than to have fun with learning.

Wesleyan Kiddie College is a Christian based program. We are a 2 star facility, rated by the State of Oklahoma. We offer a range of education and care programs for children six weeks to four years of age. Our teachers give unconditional love, security, routine, and an opportunity to be creative and resourceful. Kiddie College is open for parents to visit and observe their children at anytime. Our activities are age appropriate and will promote each child's physical, intellectual, social and spiritual, and growth. We promote hands on learning and promote curiosity. We play with a purpose this helps your child to move forward developmentally, intellectually, socially in an environment that's warm, nurturing and fun.
Wesleyan Kiddie College knows that parents have the primary responsibility for the care and nurturing of their children. Kiddie College supports the parents in this role and works with them as a team to give the best care for their child.

Wesleyan Kiddie College was established in 1976. It was established as a service to the families and children of the community. The original preschool has an enrollment of 14 students.
Kiddie College has been continuously licensed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services since its beginning in 1976. Kiddie College cares for children ages 6 weeks through 4 years.
On May 12, 2008 Kiddie College moved into our new home. We are located on the east side of Wesleyan Christian School. On May 18, 2008 the building was dedicated for the glory of God. Kiddie College families and teachers are enjoying their new class rooms. Kiddie College went with a Noah's Ark theme . The walls have a wall scape with the ark and animals all around. The class rooms all have new animal names, and each room has a theme for the animal's name. Our new environment creates new space for exploring and learning in secure setting.

Our teachers at Wesleyan Kiddie College are skilled, have training in their area, are flexible ,and enthusiastic. Our teachers understand children develop at different stages and work with each child to develop at his or her own pace. Our teachers know the struggle that children have between being dependent and wanting to be independent. Children at this age are impressionable and our teachers demonstrate respect and consideration for each child in their care. Our teachers show the children how to use correct behavior with other children and in the environment. Our teachers have a variety of training in early childhood. They continue with extensive training, take professional development classes and have first aide and CPR training. Kiddie College teachers prepare daily lesson plans and variety of activities that meet and challenge each child's individual needs. |

Nursery
Lion Cubs-6weeks- 6 months
Turtles-6 months - 1 year
We want you to feel secure leaving your precious baby in our care. We know you are looking for a home away from home where your baby can learn, play, sleep and grow. Our teachers work with you to make a smooth transition in the class.
Classroom teachers use:
* age appropriate toys, games, and Christian
music to stimulate development
* nurturing personal care that builds trust and
self -esteem
* stimulating activities that encourage your child
to play, explore, generating interest and
curiosity as your child grows
* Bible stories and Bible verses
* open communication with teachers, including
daily notes, to let you know about your child's
day.
Physical development of coordinated motor skills are a large part of a child's first year. Our teachers use activities that help build physical strength and motor coordination with daily experiences that allow infants to practice gross and fine motor skills, hand and eye and full body movement.
First words are very important language and communication develop fast during this period, teachers give great care in talking to the baby consistent exposure to speech and language. Teachers read stories during the day to the babies. During this time babies connect to their care giver they develop early social interactions, conversations, develop facial expressions to communicate.

Toddlers
Bunnies-1 year to 2 years
Bear Cubs- 1 year to 2 years
What a big world when babies take to their feet. They walk, talk and make relationships with other toddlers. Group time incorporates activities such as games, stories and much more. Creative art activities help to introduce cause and effect, self-expression through art and music. Gross motor skills are developed balance hand/eye coordination, creative movements to music. Reading is very important at this age. Toddlers focus on first words, following simple directions, identifying and naming familiar items. Our teachers offer a variety of fun stimulating activities such as matching and sorting, exploring colors, counting and categorizing objects.
Classroom teachers use:

Butterflies-2 years to 3 years
Giraffes-2 years to 3 years
Two's want to do everything. They understand group play and are better at communicating their own thoughts. Teachers use language development to help children turn their ideas into word and sentences. Group activities help to practice social skills, cooperation, sharing and taking turns. Two year olds are very active learners. Our teachers design activities that keep them busy and their minds engaged. As they learn more about themselves teachers have group activities such as songs, games stories and more. Art activities introduce them to cause and effect, self-expression through art and music and taking on pretend roles. Two year olds are naturally curious and want o explore their world. Our big room gives them indoor space to balance, climb, jump, run, and participate incrative movement to music. they also love playing outdoor areas that provide for the love of God's creation, climbing, sliding, and riding.

Croc's-3 years to 4 year olds
Kanga's- 3 years to 4 year olds
A whole new beginning. Our program introduces language,math, science, social skills, bible, pledges to the American and Christian flag, and the pledge to the Bible. Our teachers provide individual attention to support your child's needs. Children are encouraged to explore and challenged to learn, they make friends and develop self-confidence. Our teachers create activities that combine both learning and fun. As children develop their skills and confidence, our teachers add more skills for them to keep going. The teachers have daily activities that develop reading and writing skills, and introduce literacy concepts. Children are introduced to numbers, sorting , grouping, and counting. Children role play through dramatic play, music and art. Teachers use activities that develop imagination and independence and confidence. Our big room helps children to develop large motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, kicking, climbing, along with outside time on the playground. They also practice fine motor skills such as writing and drawing.

Other Activities:

Computers: Computers are used as an extension of our curriculum. Children learn the basics about computer use. Age appropriate educational programs are designed for your child to play and learn math, reading, writing and problem solving.
Outdoor Activities: The children to play outside.We are currently working on our new playground to go with our new building. We also have access to Wesleyan Christian School playground.
Meals and Snacks: We serve daily breakfast, lunch, and snack. We serve well-balanced meals that will insure each child gets good nutritional foods. Fruits, vegetables, dairy products, milk and 100% juice.
Chapel: Each week children Church does chapel for two year old and up.
